The picture in the header is taken from the photo of the actual vehicle as displayed to the left in this post. This thing used to belong to my father. He was going to move to Canada and thought a vehicle like the Scout would have a better chance of survival but never followed through on the move. He purchased the 1976 Scout in 1977. When he got it, it only had 20,000 miles on it. Currently the odometer has turned over once (at 100,000 miles) and now has 65,224 miles on it. So the actual milage is 165,224.

I bought the vehicle from my father in 1979 and have been driving it ever since. Well, almost. It has been sitting idle for the past six years. It spent two years sitting in the driveway and another four years in the garage. I did not need it for transportation and did not want to sell it.

The image in the header was taken from a photo taken today. This is after the Scout was rolled out of the garage and had six years of dust washed off it. I think it is in surprizingly good shape for what it has been through but it needs a few things still.
